A businessman from Castelo Branco linked to forestry and the Pedrógão Grande Chamber created a nursery of oaks and cork oaks, with about five thousand plants, which will later be used to reforest the land.
José Gameiro is the entrepreneur who, having an already disabled nursery, made available material for the creation of this one in Pedrógão Grande for about five thousand trees. The space is located next to the building of the rural tourism and near the school of Pedroguense.
Silvapor's entrepreneur, who was recently offered to offer trees and plant in Pedrógão Grande, free of charge, about 30 thousand trees, explained that the seed for the plants of this nursery will be collected in the Burned.
The goal is to involve the school community in this project, namely in the collection of seeds, and to place an immediate part this winter, and the contact with the school should be made by the municipality of Pedrógão Grande.
Speaking to Lusa, José Gameiro said that he also spoke with the municipality of Figueiró dos Vinhos in the sense of installing a nursery similar to it and that will also talk with the municipality of Castanheira de Pera for a similar project.
José Gameiro was on August 2 in Pedrógão Grande to visit the territory, being accompanied at the same time by the Civil Protection engineer of the municipality, Margarida Gonçalves.
The businessman also stressed that briefly will also meet with the coordinator of the Unit for the Appreciation of the Interior (UMVI), João Paulo Catarino.
